A stampede occurred in Agra, Uttar Pradesh on Monday due to a langur attack. The langur injured elderly Mohan Singh and Pintu of Mai village. People hid in homes and shops. The langur also attacked the forest department team that arrived on information and injured an employee. Later, the SOS rescue team controlled the langur and left it at Keetham.
The incident happened in Bateshwar Khand village of Bah area at around 9 am. Here the langur started chasing the villagers. This caused a stampede. People hid in their houses to save their lives. When the forest department team tried to catch it, it injured forest worker Triloki. On receiving the information, the team of Wildlife SOS, which reached there with Dr. Baijuraj, Hotam Singh, conducted a rescue operation with the help of the forest department.
After about an hour of hard work, it could be caught. The team of Wildlife SOS caged the langoor and took it with them to Keetham. Only then did the people of Bateshwar Khand area feel relieved. On the other hand, on Monday evening, a woman named Radha was seriously injured in an attack by a monkey that entered the courtyard of her house in Jarar. The injured had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
